“Here is something a bit unfinished. I began with the idea of trying an abstract, but it did indeed become representational especially after I went further on this. I think of abstract as well composed flat shapes and color, drawing being the design rather than depiction, but I don’t think I succeeded. While I think rules of light and shadow don’t necessarily apply, I don’t know if it works to break them entirely. Anyway I began with a still life and hope to try other types. I love the idea the quilter used in the video, that was inspiring.”
