These are the lectures that Barry John Raybould gives during the first week of his live workshops. In this series of lectures, he introduces you to the key concepts of Visual Music & Poetry - the two essential components of all fine art. He also covers the critical topic of notan which is the foundation for the design in every painting, and how to learn values, the one thing that will help you more than anything else make things look real. He has made them available as downloadable video files for those of you who would like to take a workshop, but who cannot travel to the workshop location.
"The video explanations were simple to understand, with visuals provided concurrently with the explanations. It was just like attending a live lecture in an art school!. The written notes and the assignments also helped to reinforce what I learnt from the video lectures.".........Ching, October 25, 2008

"I think the videos are great and go so well with the whole programme. As you know I ordered the complete Virtual Art program and having read it through, I find that is has so much more information than all the classes I have taken. The videos are like icing on the cake.".........Muriel, Canada, July 17, 2009 |
